Barcelona

I found this picture in my files today and thought I would show you:

See? There I am on the side of that bus! How cool is that?!

Which colour do you hate and why?

Firstly, Happy Valentines Day and Happy Chinese New Year!

Laura tells me that it's now the Year of the Tiger, which I'm not sure I completely approve of. I think it should be the Year of the Giraffe, but that's not an option.

I don't hate any colours, but maybe I've not given it enough thought. I usually think about my cuteness and there's no room in my head for anything else.

Art!

Because I have to be quiet I got out my crayons and drew this picture
of Melman.

Love Alex x

PS: The question for today is "What colour are you?" Well, I'm brownish and Melman is orangish!

Being quiet

Laura is poorly today so Melman and I have to be nice and quiet. It's
very hard for me. :(

Reunited!

Sam Adams

Here I am with a Sam Adams at the airport Chili's. John says he signed
the Declaration of Independence, which probably explains why his beer
cost $8.

Laguna!

John's planning to do life drawing here in Laguna, I got to cuddle a
duck!

Sleepy Now

I've been watching very scary tv programs tonight about vampires. I
probably shouldn't have done that right before bed, but I'm so tired I
expect I'll fall asleep right away.

Night night!

Art!

Look, it's me at the Los Angeles county museum of art inside a modern
art exhibit! They had lots of Picassos too, so John was happy, although
quite a lot of it was closed.

M&Ms

Delicious almond M&Ms and they're mine, all mine! Though John tells me I might have to share. I'll let Laura have some M&Ms. I'm nice like that. Glad to see Alex has been seeing some culture, we might be heading off to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art today. Last night John had dinner with friends in Seal Beach and I got to play in the hotel room.

*points*

Lions outside the Fitzwilliam in Cambridge. This marks the end of my
adventures - unless I sneak to work with Laura on Saturday and have my
picture taken there. It's been a busy week filling in for Melman.

Love you all.

Coffee!

Invading a picture of Judith having coffee at the Fitzwilliam in
Cambridge.

My head in a palm tree! This must be what it's like to be in Africa, moseying across the plains with giraffey friends. Africa probably doesn't have so many socks to play with though.

Look! A proper american yellow fire hydrant! Just like one my friend, who's a bear lobster, got photographed with in Boston!

That's John's tea on top of it although he complains that the water's not hot enough and the milk is too creamy.

Week 5 - Thursday

Well, this is the first question that I've answered. I'm trying to get organised!

Have they ever put you in an embarrassing situation? (by Hedgie)

No. They are more likely to be embarrassed by me! Just see what John had to go through yesterday when I met Mickey Mouse.

St Edmundsbury

The pretty windows in the cathedral. It was very nice in there and
much warmer than outside. There were men in purple robes, but I don't
know what they were doing.

Alex x

Boo!

Laura's mother didn't see me do this! I'm in the cloisters at St
Edmundsbury Cathedral.

Alex x

Moyse's Hall, Bury

I wasn't allowed out at the museum. No food, no photos, no pets. So I
snuck out of Laura's bag in the loo - but I tried to cover my eyes. ;)

Alex x

Socks

Socks are fun. John caught me playing with the new ones he got from
Target. They're nice and comfy. We're still jetlagged - breakfast soon.

Adventures!

I'm riding the bus today and it's been very exciting. The driver went
the wrong way so we had a detour through somewhere called Quy. Then we
got to Newmarket and almost ran over an old man who stepped out in
front of us.

Hope we make it through the day!!!

Mickey!

Ha! My post got buried under Alex's! Well here's Mickey. Disneyland's across the road so he's in the hotel lobby. John risked serious embarassment to get this shot so I hope you all like it :-)

Liberty

Laura liked it in here. She was very excited by something called
"stash". There was ric rac, buttons and ribbons.

Then we had a very nice lunch, I would have prefered a hunk of meat,
but it was fun.

Alex x

Two Lions!

I found a fellow lion at the museum. He's much fiercer than I am!

Alex x

Hoo?

This is the Sutton Hoo helmet. It's very famous - or so they tell me,
but I'm only a lion, what do I know?!

Answer - I know how to be cute! :)

Look! The convention centre's huge! And there are loads of palm trees. Not as good as Easter Island statues, but still good. It's all very californian, and nice and warm at 7am. We weren't the only ones out taking pictures but I was the only giraffe.

Astrolion

This is an Astrolabe, but all you can really see is me being Cute!

Alex x

Easter Island

Look at this! We went to Easter Island to see the statues. Very exciting, but there was only one of them.

Alex X

Just drivin'

This is me yesterday, cruising the surface roads :-) See, I'm getting to know the language. Got some shopping done too, but that's still in the car because John didn't want people to know he'd been sneaking out to Target!

Morning.

Alex? On my blog? While I was all jetlagged? Well us giraffes like to share... hi Alex! Hope the train journey was fun! It's 5am and I'm wide awake!

Train!

Look! I'm on a train!

BlogJacking!

Hi, I'm Melman's best mate, Alex.

I'm off to London today with Laura and her Mum. Hopefully I'll have adventures, but they won't be as exciting as Melmans. Still, I'm going to a museum, a big shop and up a tower. So we'll see!

Love Alex

Hey!

Do you mind?! I'm in the shower!

Can't a giraffe have some privacy?

Test Post via iPhone

I don't know if you guys will be able to see this photo, but this is
what John is getting up to at the moment. I think I should make a
speech about how wonderful I am. That would be more exciting than
dull old computer program.
